The synthesis gas produced by gasification of coal is a feedstock for production of many valuable chemicals, mostly imported.
On the basis of the synthesis gas from coal it is possible to produce, for example, synthetic engine fuels, which are much cleaner than produced from oil (not including, for example, sulfur), and have higher properties (eg. greater cetane number of synthetic Diesel fuel), the natural gas substitute, which is mostly imported and chemical products not produced in Poland.
The launch, for example, the production of liquid hydrocarbons on the basis of domestic coal, with the available high-performance technologies, will diversify fuel generation sources and make them partially independent from imported oil. This is important for the security of the country especially in the case of potential conflicts and other threats.
As a result of collaboration with gasification technology provider and Polish research institutes it is possible to create a new industry as well as export of the latest technologies in the region.
